Masks No Longer Mandated, But Highly Recommended in Common Areas

by | Mar 27, 2022 | Announcements | 0 comments

Although the Gov. Hochul’s mask mandate has been lifted,  the voluntary use of masks is still highly recommended in all common areas at Lincoln Spencer.

In our building, those areas include the front entry, lobby, hallways, mail room, laundry room and other public areas.  Interaction with residents and staff in these public areas is not avoidable and social distancing cannot be maintained.

Although you may believe that your brief presence without a face covering in an area such as the lobby (while entering or leaving the building or to pick up a package)  is harmless,  our staff is exposed to dozens of persons hourly, placing them at risk. Social distancing cannot be relied upon to prevent the possible transmission of the highly contagious variants of the virus into the air or onto surfaces by persons who are not wearing a protective face covering. The CDC and health officials recommend a sturdy three-layer mask. Home-made masks and bandanas are not considered effective protection against the virus.

We are still fighting this disease, and hopefully these voluntary measures will help us avoid further resurgence of this pandemic.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND STAY SAFE!
